The Jane Ann Series 2 – Emerald

This is the second in our series looking at the crystal wisdom which we have all inherited from the late Jane Ann Dow… focusing in on the Beryl family… and in this post specifically on Emerald.

Now, in our first post yesterday, on Aquamarine, we saw that Jane Ann discovered… through the interactions of her clients with many different members of the Beryl family… that Beryl is also concerned with different problems the Soul faces when it incarnates into the physical body…

… and Emerald is no exception to this…

In addition to all the other energetic qualities Emerald is associated with in the crystal literature… Jane Ann found that¬†Emerald can also be used to heal Soul divisions / traumas which have occurred:

  • During the major transitions points in our life… or transitions out of the physical plane and back into Spirit… or vice versa…

And reading between the lines a little:

  • Between the Jiva Soul (i.e. the Soul which incarnates) and the personality self

So any trauma which occurs around a transition point, along life’s journey, whether birth, death, or puberty, menopauseretirement maybe… etc etc…¬†Emerald can be used to heal the trauma.

But there is also another type of Soul healing which is possible.

Because there are different consciousnesses inhabiting your single body (5 according to the Ancient Chinese system)… and don’t forget the physical body also has its own type of consciousness…

But let’s focus on the 2 main ones… the personality self and the Jiva Soul

The Jiva Soul is the part of the Soul, according to Ancient Indian wisdom, that incarnates into the physical body at the time of birth… but for the majority of people. they are not aware of it, because it remains quiet, in the background… silently guiding… whispering in the ear of the personality self

The personality self is what evolves as we grow up… a sense of self + individual reactions which form our personality… and it is this self which generally believes itself to be in control…

So let us imagine a car… where the personality self is driving… and the Jiva Soul is in the back-seat, quietly guiding…

And let us imagine that the Jiva Soul incarnated with the mission of being a great painter.

The Jiva Soul whispers into the personality self throughout the early years… trying to guide it towards a life of art and colour…

And if the personality self is listening to the inner voice, all is well… life-purpose is achieved… harmony and bliss is found…

But what happens if the personality self isn’t listening… actively ignores… and drives off in a different direction… perhaps listening to the voices of family and friends… becoming a politician or a banker…

Well, that isn’t going to make the Jiva Soul very happy… the personality self taking a different course in life then planned…

Soul trauma is almost guaranteed when that happens.

From the perspective of the Jiva Soul, it’s being taken on a life journey it never wanted to take, trapped in the back seat of the car…

But yet… this happens a lotpersonality selves getting swayed by external desires / voices… and losing connection with their true inner voice…

Jiva Souls being trapped in the back seat, stuck for another lifetime, heading in the wrong direction…

And this is what Jane Ann Dow found… because she writes about Emerald saying:

Emeralds in any form play an important role in the heart of the soul by lending its vibrant healing green light to the healing of soul level transitions. Any major leap of consciousness can create trauma in the light body. If a client selects emerald, chances are that the spiritual heart center is calling for attention and possibly a healing of traumatic scars found there.

This means that Emerald has a number of different healing uses… from a deep healing perspective… but it is generally focused around transition points… anywhere there is potentially a major leap of consciousness

Yes, Emerald can be about prosperity consciousness, as many crystal authors suggest.

But Jane Ann is pointing us to a deeper possibility for Emerald.

In the Modern World, we tend to focus more on external situations… and lose sight of the inner change which is linked to those transitions points… the leap in consciousness

But the Ancient Societies understood… hence initiation ceremonies… which mirrored externally the inner shift / transformation which was occurring within (hopefully).

But if our lives are really a series of transitions… birthdeathpubertypregnancymenopause… which are hard-wired into human bodies… but also those transitions which are unique to each individual (i.e. going off to University to study art… or architecture… or join the University football team)… and each transition is a major point of change… where we are required to let go of the old… and embrace the new…

Then some people easily rise to the challenge…

While some people fall back and run away… preferring the old to the new… decide not to follow their Dharma / life-path…

Whenever trauma happens at any of these transitions, for whatever reason… it leaves a deep scar inside… because the personality self is choosing to turn away from the wants and desires of the Jiva Soul… and go off in a different life direction…

Or it may be that you are fully committed to your life-path… but someone else is falling to honor the Soul Contract you both agreed on before birth… that can happen… and is equally as traumatic… (Oh, I most definitely know that experience…)

And the personality self can do that… because of a thing called free-will… and the Jiva Soul can guide, but it cannot enforce (well, not while it is stuck in the backseat…)

But never assume that there are not consequences for going against your individual Dharma…

And the energy consequences are felt within the Heart itself… and the relationship between the Jiva Soul and the personality self

This is what I believe Jane Ann Dow is referring to… the internal trauma which Emerald heals…

Re-establishing the connection between the personality self and the Jiva Soul

Yes, it is about healing any trauma which occurs during a difficult transition… i.e. a difficult birth… or a difficult death say… where the trauma was suffered at the point of transitioning…

But also, I think from her written words… I think it can heal the hurt / trauma between the personality self and Jiva Soul which occurs when a life path transition is avoided… the personality self goes off in a different direction… and the Jiva Soul is left in the back of the car, ignored, and nothing it can do.

If this is the case, the Emerald is a great crystal to use for people trying to establish… or re-establish… communication with their Inner Self… especially if they have spent years ignoring its guidance and advice…

Just as Emerald can be a crystal of rejuvenation in the outer world… it can bring new life to our inner world as well… and heal the wounds inflicted by the personality self (and maybe this stretches back into past lives as well) on its relationship with the Jiva Self.

Because remember… all the money in the bank won’t make up for the final realization of your life… on your death bed… that you didn’t come here to do what you really came her to do…
