Audio Satsang – Rumi

This Audio Essence was created using the words of the enlightened master Rumi, drawn from The Mathnawi. This Audio Essence allows you to enter into Satsang with the enlightened master Rumi.

And if you have a positive experience through listening to this Audio Essence, if it has taken you into a deeper and more expansive experience of your own inner being… then remember, you can come back to this webpage anytime in the future, anytime you want / need to repeat this same process. It’s that simple. This webpage provides you with a simple route into that natural feeling of joy and expansion within.

This Audio Essence is composed of an initial 3 minute voice introduction, followed by a 10 minute music track, and then a 3 minute voice call back section to help you ground and integrate your experience. The Audio Essence itself is embedded into the middle 10 minute music section. Practical suggestions on use can be found at the bottom of this page.

There is a common belief in many different spiritual traditions that the words of an enlightened master remain alive and active for thousands of years, and if a student knows how, those same words can be used to enter into Satsang, or direct communion with that master. The words, even when translated into a different format or language, still contain the unbroken energetic threadwhich allows an individual living now to commune with that enlightened master, whose consciousness still remains close to the earth plane, even when they are no longer in a physical body, ready to assist anyone who reaches out for help, who asks to be lifted up.

Entering into Satsang with an enlightened master allows your consciousness to be lifted up, if only for a while, above the duality, emotional pain and limited perspectives of our earth plane experience. If you are struggling with a specific issue, you may ask to be given new insights and clarity about your situation at the start of this Audio Essence.

The specific words used to create this Audio Essence are:

Rumi said:

On the night when you cross the street from your shop and your house to the cemetery,

You’ll hear me hailing you from inside the open grave, and you’ll realize how we’ve always been together.

I am the clear consciousness-core of your being, the same in ecstasy as in self-hating fatigue.

That night, when you escape the fear of snakebite and all irritation with the ants, you’ll hear my familiar voice, see the candle being lit, smell the incense, the surprise meal fixed by the lover inside all your other lovers.

This heart-tumult is my signal to you igniting in the tomb.

So don’t fuss with this shroud and the graveyard road dust.

Those get ripped open and washed away in the music of our finally meeting.

And don’t look for me in a human shape. I am inside your looking. No room for form with love this strong.

Beat the drum and let the poets speak. This is the day of purification for those who are already mature and initiated into what love is.

No need to wait until we die! There’s more to want here than money and being famous and bites of roasted meat.

Now, what shall we call this new sort of gazing-house that has opened in our town where people sit quietly and pour out their glancing like light, like answering?

Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, who is also known as Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Blkhi, Mawlana, or Mevlana, but most often as Rumi, was born in 1207 and died 17th December 1273, and lived during the Islamic Golden Age.

Rumi 250p

In his life, we was a poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic.

But it was his meeting with the dervish Shams-e Tabrizi on 15th November 1244 that completely changed his life. From an accomplished teacher and jurist, Rumi was transformed into an ascetic and mystic, which outraged and confused many of his traditionalist followers, who were probably responsible for the kidnapping and the death of Shams, which left Rumi heart-shaken and grieving.

After the loss of Shams, over the years, Rumi had two other mystical companions, Salaḥ ud-Din-e Zarkub, a goldsmith, and after his death, Rumi’s scribe and favourite student, Hussam-e Chalabi, who assumed the role of his constant companion.

It was Hussam who persuaded Rumi to write, which over the next 12 years resulted in the outpouring of The Mathnawi and other spiritual poems, which Rumi would recite spontaneously, and Hussam would write down in the moment.

It was not uncommon for Rumi to go into a mystical state in the middle of the street, and start reciting poetry, and Hussam would need to be on hand to write down Rumi’s words. It is down to Hussam’s efforts that Rumi’s poetry was captured for humanity, and not lost on the breeze.

This Audio Essence helps to attune and align an individual consciousness to the consciousness of the enlightened master Rumi.

For most people he is one of the easiest master consciousnesses to interact with (I have found that St Francis of Assisi is another).

It’s as if he’s enlightened… but still remembers what it is like to be human… and so can be a good intermediary when walking between the worlds.

And he is a Master of Love.

So when you start to listen to his Audio Satsang, why not ask to be shown a deeper expression of love, or be helped to remove an inner block to expressing the love within you… and then see what happens.

Or just relax, be open and see what happens… allow yourself to be drawn up above, through the grey clouds, up into the limitless blue sunlit sky above

Practical Suggestions on Use:

  • The more conscious attention that you can give to an Audio Essence, the deeper and more fulfilling your experience will be. It is possible to receive the benefits of an Audio Essence while listening to it in the background, but the more time and conscious focus you can devote to it, the more fulfillment you will gain from the experience.
  • It is strongly advised that you do not listen to an Audio Essence while driving or performing tasks which require your undivided attention.
  • Many people have found that listening to an Audio Essence using headphones greatly enhances their experience… although if you do not have headphones or earplugs, listening to it played on your computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone will still prove equally as effective.
  • The effectiveness of an Audio Essence is not dependent on the particular volume it is played at, in fact, it can be set at the minimum volume level where it is still audible to the listener and it will still be effective. When using an Audio Essence, therefore, select the volume level which is most comfortable for your experience at that time.
  • If your internet connection is slow, it may be better to allow the Audio Essence to fully download on to your webpage first before you start to listen. To attempt to listen while it is still downloading may mean the Audio Essence pauses, and this may interrupt and disturb your experience.

Important: An Audio Essence / Audio Satsang is not intended to directly resolve physical and / or mental complaints and illnesses.
