AE Green Tourmaline

Green Tourmaline is a hexagonal crystal. It has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Moh scale.
The colour of this variety of Tourmaline is ‘green’, but its structure works in a ‘yellow’ way.
But what does that mean in practical terms?
Well, the colour green is associated with balance, expansion, abundance, and the strength to walk our individual path.
But with hexagonal green the vibration also includes clarity, discernment, and the ability to hold our energy boundaries.
Now, according to Jane Ann Dow, in the early days of crystal therapy, energy healers believed that all you needed was ‘love’ – namely, Rose Quartz and Green Aventurine… which was good, because these were the only stones which most people could get hold of back then in 60s and 70s…
It was a world very unlike the one we know… there was no going on to the Internet and browsing for the crystal you needed… there was no Internet for a start…
Sue & Simon Lilly are always saying that, for a lot of crystal people, you need to work with what you can get your hands on… you have to be practical about things… and this was very true in the early days of crystal healing, the 1960s and 1970s, as Brett Bravo described in her books…
And then slowly the expansive wonders of the mineral kingdom started to become available for more and more people… and people discovered Pink Tourmaline and Green Tourmaline… which both seem to help to work vibrational miracles for our Heart chakras.
Now, energetically, there are two basic mistakes when it comes to the Heart chakra… either we don’t give enough love to ourselves… or we give too much love to other people… (and often the two occur together)… it is not uncommon to come across people… carer types especially… who have inner “flat batteries”… because they are giving too much of their energy away to others… holding too little back for themselves… and so these people are permanently exhausted… but they keep pushing themselves onwards, because of the belief that others “need them… I can’t let others down…!
And unfortunately… these are the kinds of people who the psychic vampires love to latch on to… because from an energy perspective… they are an all you can eat buffet… and never struggle to resist… plus, usually they are open 24/7…
Fortunately, Jane Ann Dow, in her book Crystal Shaman, found that Green Tourmaline is an excellent vibration for those people who give out too much love, and so become burnt out.
OK… it won’t help someone erect strong boundaries to protect yourself… there are other stones for that… the easiest to acquire Black Tourmaline… but Green Tourmaline can help you recharge and stabilize your energies…
If we think about it from a green / yellow perspective, this makes sense. The green vibration wants to expand, however, the hexagonal yellow steps in and provides clarity and boundaries, so that the person learns that there must be limits… (to love… at least, in the human sphere).
A good analogy of the heart burn out is the ‘sad comedienne’ who makes everyone else laugh and feel better, but then goes home alone and depressed. Because they have no heart energy left for themselves.
Green Tourmaline is an excellent vibration for those people who wear their hearts on their sleeves, or are too open emotionally / energetically, or give too much of themselves.
Jane Ann Dow writes that ALL Tourmalines give out energy… hopefully, you can now see that Green Tourmaline does so in an expansive way… so, Green Tourmaline is an excellent, expansive, crystal energy to give back, to fill people who give out themselves.
